SPATIAL INTERVENTION IN A FORMER BATHHOUSE
· Course Introduction：
This design course will talk about space in general, and about spatial thinking in particular – the key competence of architects. To approach the topic, we will examine
the relationship between art and architecture and, in a further step, analyze the diEerences and similarities between the various cultural positions.Artists have the freedom to develop ideas and concepts without any restrictions, unlike the architects. Seeing and understanding space through the eyes of an artist creates opportunities for new and inspiring ideas. Especially works, projects and installations that deal with the sensuous perception of space and interact with the senses are of great interest, as well as works of art that react in a conscious manner to architecture
本设计课题将从整体层面探讨 “空间” 概念，并重点讲解 “空间思维”—— 这是建筑师的核心能力。为切入该主题，我们将首先研究艺术与建筑之间的关系，进而分析不同文化立场之间的异同。
艺术家拥有不受任何限制地发展想法与概念的自由，建筑师则不然。从艺术家的视角去观察和理解空间，能为催生新颖且富有启发性的想法创造可能。我们尤为关注两类作品：一类是涉及空间感官感知、能与感官产生互动的作品、项目及装置；另一类是对建筑作出有意识回应的艺术作品。

Urban morphology, architectural typology, contemporary settlement patterns，URBAN ANAMNESIS AND URBAN SURGERY
· Course Introduction：
The first aim of the Design Studio is practicing fundaments of urban morphology and buildings typology in order to read the urban spaces and artefacts. The second aim of the Design Studio is using that reading activity in order to look for innovative design solutions for the contemporary city.
Based on the concepts of TECTONICS, TYPOLOGY and TOPOGRAPHY, the Design Studio will let Bachelor and Master students investigate together (through design activities as surveys, sketches, models, diagram) on the interplay between tradition and modernity. Master students will be asked to face some aspects of complexity concerning innovative building solutions, types mutations, changes in urban functions, and above all the topic of design process, in connection with the nowadays development of society, economy, ecology and sustainability.
课题的第一个目标是学习理解城市形态和建筑类型学的基本原理，以解读城市空间和人工制品，第二个目标是利用这种阅读活动，为当代城市寻找创新的设计方案。
基于 "结构"（TECTONICS）、"类型"（TYPOLOGY）和 "地形"（TOPOGRAPHY）的概念，课题将让本科生和硕士生共同研究（通过调查、草图、模型、图表等设计活动）传统与现代之间的相互作用。硕士生将被要求面对一些复杂的问题，如创新建筑方案、类型突变、城市功能变化，尤其是与当今社会、经济、生态和可持续发展相关的设计过程问题。
